Why ferrets?

Ferrets are a natural predator of rabbits, and have need domesticated for over 2000 years. 

Do the ferrets harm the rabbits?

No. The smell of the ferrets is usually enough to make the rabbits flee the warren as they sense a predator. The ferrets chase the rabbits out of the warren and the rabbits are humanely euthanased.
